飯Rice

Plain steamed rice anchors almost every Taiwanese meal, and some of the best-loved dishes are little more than a bowl of it with something savory spooned over the top, like braised pork rice (滷肉飯). Sticky glutinous rice plays other roles: it is the chewy wrapper of breakfast rice rolls (飯糰) and the casing of the 'big sausage' in sausage-in-glutinous-rice (大腸包小腸).
