花蓮市一日吃:從蒸餃到夜市

Overview

About this route

Start with steamed dumplings on Gongzheng Street, move through mochi, wonton and scallion pancake with egg, and finish at Dongdamen Night Market at dusk. We could not find reliable hours for several of the shops, so call ahead or check their pages, and keep a fallback in mind.

Opening days and hours change, so check before you set out.

Stop by stop

The itinerary

  1. About 40 min

Stop 1: Zhou Jia Steamed Dumplings and Xiaolongbao

Begin at the steamers on Gongzheng Street. The gofunit guide (updated October 2026) gives hours of 10:00 to 02:00, so this stop is set for after 10:00; the old 24-hour service has been dropped. Gongzheng Baozi, once next door, has moved to Renai Street (SETN, April 2024). After the April 2024 earthquake Zhou Jia suspended business for a time because it was in the control zone, so check its Facebook page before you set out.

  2. About 30 min

Stop 2: Zeng Ji Mochi, Maji Store | Mochi Story House

At 79 Guolian 1st Road, listed on the company website as open daily 07:00 to 21:00; it is about 2 km from Gongzheng Street (roughly a 25 minute walk, or a short taxi ride). Peanut, red bean and sesame are the traditional flavors; try one or two, or buy a box to take home.

  3. About 40 min

    Stop 3: Wonton at Yexiang

Hualien's biǎnshí are small thin-skinned wontons in a light, faintly sweet broth. Yexiang at 42 Xinyi Street sells just one bowl, ten wontons for NT$80, from about 09:30 until 13:30 or 14:00, closed Sunday and often sold out, so it is placed before noon. Dai Ji on Zhonghua Road is reported closed by a 2026 blog, which we could not confirm, so this itinerary leaves it out.

  4. About 30 min

Stop 4: Yellow-cart Zhadan scallion pancake on Fuxing Street

About a 15 minute walk (1.3 km) from the wonton shops. Eat the yellow cart's fried-egg scallion pancake hot; most sources have it opening around 13:00, which fits this slot, but it draws a queue when busy, so do not leave it late. The blue cart on Lane 110 of Fuxing Street is the other old-brand stall if you want to compare.

  5. About 1 h

Stop 5: A walk in Nanbin Park

About 2.4 km to the sea (roughly a 30 minute walk, or a short taxi ride), then a stroll by the Pacific in Nanbin Park (officially the Nanbin section of Pacific Park) to digest. The night market is a short way north of the park, so you can scout the layout too.
