從豆漿到牛肉麵:台北的一個白天
Overview
Start with dawn soy milk at Huashan Market, walk past Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, then eat soup dumplings and beef noodles around Yongkang Street. Most of it is walkable; Fu Hang is closed on Mondays, so on that day start at Yongkang instead.
Opening days and hours change, so check before you set out.

Walk about 1.1 kilometers south from Huashan Market (around 15 minutes) to settle breakfast and see the memorial's plaza.
It opens at 10:45, so the first seating has the shortest wait. About 1 kilometer (15 minutes) on foot from the memorial; order the bitter melon and pork rib soup along with the dumplings.
Yongkang Street, a short walk from Din Tai Fung, is a food street well known to visitors; in summer try the mango shaved ice that Michelin recommends.

About a 6-minute walk (400 meters) from Din Tai Fung. The signature is the red-braised half-tendon bowl; after the dumplings, order a small bowl or share.

Walk Dadaocheng's Dihua Street in the late afternoon, then follow the light to Ningxia Night Market. Oyster omelets, taro cakes, braised pork rice and tofu pudding follow, one stop after another. The two are about 500 meters apart, so it is all on foot; Yuan Huan Pien is closed on Mondays, so pick another day for this route.

Start with steamed dumplings on Gongzheng Street, move through mochi, wonton and scallion pancake with egg, and finish at Dongdamen Night Market at dusk. We could not find reliable hours for several of the shops, so call ahead or check their pages, and keep a fallback in mind.

Head south down the Huatung Valley from Ruisui to Yuli for milk, Yuli noodles, yokan and stinky tofu in a day. The ranch is about 21 km from central Yuli, roughly 30 minutes by car (estimated from OpenStreetMap routing); the valley's shops are far apart, so you will need a rental car or a train-and-taxi plan, and hours are best confirmed locally, ideally with a phone call in the morning.
